The Office of the Attorney General announced that Mr. Ertugrul Karafiyeli, who is the Head of Labor and Human Resources of the Favori company, and a citizen of Turkey.
Mr. Karafiyeli was accused of misconduct, threats, abuse, and abuse of power by Somali citizens who were working at the company.
The Regional Court, after examining the preliminary evidence submitted, decided that Mr. Karafieli will be held in a temporary prison.
The Attorney General’s Office said it will begin the process of prosecuting the accused.
Favori is the company that manages the airport in Mogadishu. Many times the company has been found violating the Somali workers who work at the airport under the company.
In 2021, the Banadir Regional Court found a violation of workers’ rights, after the lawyers of the Federation of Somali Workers’ Unions (FESTU) accused them of violating the rights of one of the laborers working for the company.
