The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, chaired a meeting of foreign ministers from the Arab countries, which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.
The meeting was attended by ministers from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Mauritania, and Egypt, while the Ambassador of Djibouti and the Secretary General of the Arab League were also present.
The discussion at the meeting focused on how to promote Arab unity and support for Somalia, to strengthen the protection of its independence and territorial integrity.
The Cooperation Group of Arab Ministers has clearly expressed their full support for Somalia, rejecting any external attempts to undermine Somalia’s sovereignty.
The ministers also called on neighboring countries, especially Ethiopia, to refrain from actions that harm the stability of Somalia and its nationalism.
The meeting specifically rejected Ethiopia’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was stated in the official text of the Arab Commission.
The government of Somalia said that the Arab League and its member countries are committed to unremittingly support the independence of Somalia, based on the international principles of non-interference and respect for the head of state. -territorial freedom.
