The Committee of the People’s Assembly of the Federal Parliament of Somalia has issued an order to ban press conferences held inside and outside the headquarters of the People’s Assembly.
This order issued by the committee of the People’s Assembly was shared directly with the media and journalists who report the news from the sessions of the People’s Assembly.
This new decision will directly affect the work of the independent media operating in Mogadishu and all the MPs themselves who used to deliver their messages at the meetings held at the Parliament.
However, the press conferences held inside and outside the House of Representatives were mostly held by members of the opposition to the government who criticized the country’s top leaders.
Finally, it is not yet known officially the official reason behind this new decision, it comes after the tension that arose recently from the statements made by the parliamentarians from the South West who supported the people of the South West in their desire that the army Ethiopia remains in the South West region, which held a press conference outside the House of Representatives.
