The Commander-in-Chief of the Ethiopian Army, Berhanu Jula, and his deputy, General Abebaw Taddese, landed today at Jigjiga Airport in the Somali Regional Government.
These commanders were welcomed at the Jigjiga Airport by the top leaders of the Somali Regional Government including President Mustafe Cagjar, the Security Leader Dayib Ahmednur and other officials of the Somali Regional Government.
According to the media of the Ethiopian forces, these commanders are said to have arrived in Jigjiga to participate in the 47th anniversary of the founding of the eastern Ethiopian command forces, which will be held for the first time in Jigjiga.
Burhanu Jolla, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ethiopian Army, has also inaugurated the Training Center of the Eastern Command of the Ethiopian Army, which will be opened at the Garabcase camp on the outskirts of Jigjiga.
The arrival of the top commanders of the Ethiopian forces in Jigjiga and also the commemoration of the Ethiopian troops in Jigjiga comes at a time of tension between Ethiopia and Somalia, as recently the leaders of the Somali regional government said that they always stand by the Ethiopian forces.
The military training camp in Garabcase, which is on the outskirts of Jigjiga, is celebrating, and it is said that this celebration will continue until the 7th of this month, which is next Saturday.
