The Prime Minister of Somalia Hamse Abdi Barre has denied that the Federal Government of Somalia has imposed sanctions on the Puntland Administration.

Prime Minister Hamse said that there are no government sanctions, but he said that Puntland leaders are preventing them from getting involved in federal projects.

According to Prime Minister Hamse, the Puntland administration has refused to allow the Federal Government of Somalia to monitor the implementation of development projects in Puntland.

He accused the leaders of Puntland of hindering the cooperation of regional and federal institutions, while preventing the accountability of international projects to ensure that they reach the people well.

“The Puntland government is misleading its people and creating confusion to divert them from the real issues,” said Hamse Abdi Barre. In his speech, he stressed the importance of allowing the people of Puntland to be allowed the projects they are entitled to.

The Prime Minister’s statement comes amid a conflict between Puntland and the Federal Government, which shows that the conflict is intensifying and affecting the country’s development efforts.
