Somaliland Assembly Relations Minister Abdinasir Buuni accused the Waddani party of not being serious about Somaliland issues.

Buuni, who gave a special interview to HCTV, said that the statement of the Prime Minister of Somalia that he hoped that the leadership of Somaliland would change, meant that the candidate of the National Party, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, would take office.

The Minister, who spoke about the response given last night by the Chairman of the National Party, Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan, to the prime minister’s speech, said that Hirsi’s answer was not enough.

“The man the prime minister was talking to is the candidate for the presidential election. It is not a matter of country. The candidate is Abdirahman Irro, the man who knows things is Abdirahman, and the man who is working for unity is Abdirahman,” said Buuni.

He said that the government of Somalia has high hopes for the Wadani party, saying that they have a letter that the former minister of foreign affairs of Somalia, Yusuf Garad Omar, sent to Qatar, in which he requested financial support for the Wadani party.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, recently said that they hope to cooperate with Somaliland if a new leadership takes over.

After that, the government and some of the people said that the prime minister was referring to the Waddani party, a charge which the Waddani party distanced himself from.
