The Ministry of Security of the South West administration has started an operation to destroy the illegal checkpoints between Balidoogle and Yaaq Bari Wayne in the Lower Shabelle region of that administration.
South West Security Minister Hassan Abd Qadir Mohamed announced that the administration has officially banned these checkpoints, stressing that no one will be allowed through.
The minister disclosed that they tried to negotiate with the militia that set up the checkpoint, but he said that they refused to listen to us, and then there was a confrontation between the militia and the South West army, which caused the injury of one of their soldiers.
The Minister of Security confirmed that the security of these areas is now fully in their hands, and from now on illegal checkpoints will not be allowed.
He warned that legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to restore the checkpoints.
