Some of the members of the two houses of parliament from Puntland, have expressed strong concern that the federal government is blocking development projects and international grants for Puntland.
Puntland parliamentarians issued a press release accusing the Federal Government of practicing a policy of collective punishment, which prevents important services and equal development opportunities.
The representatives called for the immediate release of all development projects and international grants, including those related to economic infrastructure, education, health, water, electricity, and fisheries. They stressed that these projects are important for the well-being of the people of Puntland and that they should not be used for political interests.
The representatives of Puntland asked the friends of the world to support the delivery of aid to the people in need without political interference.
