The foreign ministers of Somalia and Ethiopia will meet in Ankara this week to discuss the dispute arising from the agreement signed with the Somaliland administration this year, according to the Turkish foreign minister.
“The conflict between Somalia and Ethiopia will end with Ethiopia having access to the sea through Somalia as long as Ethiopia confirms the territorial unity and political independence of Somalia,” Hakan Fidan said in a press conference. Istanbul.
The statement from the Turkish Foreign Minister came a week after he visited Addis Ababa and met Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The Somali government has already said that if Ethiopia wants to have access to Somalia’s waters, it should go through the legal route, respecting the territorial independence of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
