The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, last night chaired an emergency meeting in his cabinet to discuss the deadly attack by the Al-Shabaab group on Lido Beach in Mogadishu last Friday.

Hamse Abdi Barre and his Cabinet have announced that the Government intends to give half a million dollars to the victims of the bombing attack that took place on Friday in Lido Beach in Abdicasis district, to help the people who suffered from the attack.

“This money is intended to support the injuries and the reconstruction of the lives of the people who suffered from the brutal attack that massacred innocent people. The government has taken measures to ensure the safety of the people,” said a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office. Hamse Abdi Barre.

The attack on Lido Beach killed 40 civilians, mostly young people who were partying on the beach, and injured 247 others.
