Combined forces from Puntland and Galmudug have been officially deployed in the areas where the fighting between two tribal militias recently took place.
The Minister of Finance of Puntland, Mohamed Farah Mohamud, said that the joint forces will operate in the area connecting Galdogob and Bandiradley, saying that from now on, there will be no militia from the two areas.
Galmudug security minister, Mohamed Adan Gabobe, said that anyone who tries to disrupt the ceasefire agreement will be dealt with according to the law.
The troops from the two administrations have been deployed to the areas where the militias were fighting in the western area of Mudug region, and they have been deployed there to ensure the security of the areas where the fighting took place.
The intellectuals of both sides have welcomed this step as a solution to the conflict, seeing it as a solution to prevent another conflict, and praised the efforts of both sides.
