The government of Somalia has paid a sum of $7,853,071, which is the budget year 2024/2025 for the East African Community EAC.
Somalia is said to be better than the Democratic Republic of Congo, which joined the organization two years ago, which has yet to add anything to the umbrella.
“Somalia’s accession places additional responsibilities and obligations on the EAC,” said Kennedy Mukulia, a member of the East African Community Council (EAC).
“While the Community’s budget may appear to have increased, it should be noted that this increase is largely attributable to Somalia’s contributions,” said Kennedy Mukulia.
Somalia, which recently confirmed its accession to the EAC, said it is committed to participating in meetings to discuss the umbrella agenda.
