The Egyptian government has shown support for the security and defense of Somalia.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said his country is fully committed to supporting Somalia’s security efforts.

President Sisi stressed the need to respect its independence and sovereignty.

Speaking on the phone with the president of the federal government of Somalia, Sisi praised the various efforts of the government to stabilize and improve security.

The two Presidents discussed how to enhance their relations and cooperation between the two countries, such as economy, culture, religion, security and others.

Also, the two officials discussed the situation in the Horn of Africa, saying that they are committed to ensuring the security and stability of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

They reiterated the need to take unilateral action for the stability of the region, and stressed the need for all governments to be committed to their cooperation to achieve stability and development for their people.
