The ATMIS army has handed over its base in Abdale Birole area of Lower Jubba region to the Somali army.
A brief ceremony held inside the camp was attended by officials from the Federal Government, the Jubbaland administration and the African Union ATMIS mission, especially the members in charge of transferring the Camps.
An official from the UNSOS transition planning office said at the forum that the transfer of the barracks is part of the responsibility of the armed forces to take over the security of the country.
The UNSOS spokesperson also said on the spot that their office will continue to provide support, similar to the support they previously provided to the ATMIS army that transferred Abdalle Base in Lower Jubba region.
In any case, the temporary operation of the African Union, ATMIS, is gradually transferring its bases, and according to the plan, it is planned to reduce the forces at the end of this year and change the way these forces operate.
