The president of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, expressed surprise at the rebellion that he said is gathering in Djibouti.

Muse Bihi described it as surprising that a rebel group that claims to liberate some regions of Somaliland would be a home in Djibouti, describing it as surprising.

“I have seen rebels from inside Djibouti threatening to liberate Awdal, I did not expect it. If Djibouti turns out like this, we will wait for it,” said President Bihi.

He said that both the media and the opposition are united in defending Somaliland, and a man who leaves and comes with a different principle is a person who has joined the ranks of the enemy.

The government of Djibouti is very angry about the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia, to the extent that President Ismail Omar Guelle described it as a slap in the back, while his finance minister called it disrespectful.

The tension between the two sides is based on economic issues, with the government of Djibouti worried that Berbera Port will take over some of the Ethiopian cargo that is currently passing through Djibouti’s ports.
