The mayor of Garowe district, Abdiqadir Mohamed Mohamud Geeddi has ordered the Ethiopians in Garowe to leave immediately, otherwise action will be taken against them.

Geeddi said that it is time to evict the illegal Ethiopians from the city of Garowe, threatening those who do not obey the order to be deported.

“I want to send a call to the Ethiopian people who are in the city illegally. We have worked hard to welcome those people, but now the time has come. We want to tell those people, those who do not have the law in the city of Garowe to leave,” said the mayor of Garowe.

The governor of Garowe district said this while speaking to the press today after the Eid prayer.

This decision coincided with the influx of people from Ethiopia with different ethnic groups in the city of Garowe. These people are now fed up with begging or begging, seeing children and adults begging in the markets and streets day and night in Garowe.

The Ethiopians have also taken over some of the jobs that the citizens depended on, such as the work of the cleaners or plumbers, which were dependent on people from poor families.

Earlier, the administration of Galkayo District in Puntland banned Ethiopians from the city of Galkayo, after concerns were expressed about their behavior and flow.
