The US military has distanced itself from the responsibility for the killing of two Cuban doctors who were in the hands of the Al-Shabaab group.

The Al-Shabaab group has already announced that the two doctors were killed in an attack by the United States on February 15, 2024, in areas under the Jilib district.

The US command AFRICOM said that the assessment they made in the last three months in connection with the bombing in the area of Jilib did not kill civilians.

AFRICOM also denied allegations that the bombings carried out on January 25 and February 22 this year in the areas of Galhareeri and Kurtunwaarey killed civilians.

Finally, the two American military doctors who denied being behind their murders were named Assel Herrera and Landy Rodriguez, who were kidnapped by the Al-Shabaab group in April 2019 in North East Kenya.
