Senator Abdirahman Faroole, the former president of Puntland, accused President Hassan Sheikh of changing the Somali constitution.
Senator Faroole, who gave an interview to BBC Somali, warned President Hassan Sheikh to continue with what he called the steps to take control of the Somali government structure.
Faroole pointed out the members of the parliament and said that they want a position in the federal government, they are working to change the country’s constitution.
He said that the responsibility arising from the amendment of the constitution will be taken by the two houses of the parliament.
Abdirahman Faroole’s speech comes at a time when the parliament is going to vote for the amendment of the constitution tomorrow.
The committee in charge of this process distributed the amended version of the constitution to the parliament on Thursday.
President Hassan Sheikh has already insisted that the constitution be amended, in order to pass the election agreement reached by the National Consultative Council, even though Puntland was absent.
