The government of Somalia said it will prosecute the network behind the recent attack on the SYL hotel in Mogadishu.

A press release from the government’s information ministry said that NISA has arrested 16 suspects involved in the attack.

The Ministry of Information said that they have succeeded in arresting Abdinasir Dahir Noor, who is said to be the person who made it possible for the vehicles to enter Mogadishu where the attack was carried out.

Also, among the people arrested are up to four suspects who are registered as the owners of the two vehicles used by al-Shabaab in the attack on the SYL Hotel.

“The Somali people will be shared with complete evidence that shows the conspiracy of this Khawarij network and the assistance of the investigative agencies,” said the news from the government.

The government said that it is investigating five members of the government security forces who were working at the Al-Shabaab sites.

In the recent attack in Hote SYL, three government soldiers were killed, while around 40 people were injured.

Al-Shabaab gunmen entered the SYL hotel at around 10:00 pm at night, attacking the hotel in a heavily guarded security area.
