A military plane owned by the Turkish government has taken some of the people injured in the attack by Al-Shabaab on the SYL hotel in Mogadishu from the Aden Adde airport in Mogadishu.

18 people were injured in the attack on the SYL hotel two nights ago.

Various government officials including Somalia’s Minister of Health Ali Haji Aden said goodbye to the injured at the Aden Adde Airport, which has been busy preparing for the transport of the injured in the last few hours.

“Today, 18 wounded people and their accompanying people are being taken to hospitals in Ankara. They will return to us safely, God willing. The injured are all the people who were injured in the SYL Hotel attack, there is no distinction between the officials and the public when those who need to be taken are taken,” said Minister Ali Haji.

It is not the first time that the Turkish government has come to the rescue of people who have been injured in the suicide bombings and attacks by the Al-Shabaab group inside the country.

The attack on the SYL hotel on the 14th of this month has confirmed the death of three soldiers and the wounding of 27 others, including parliamentarians and government officials.
