The Somali Parliament has denied that one of the parliamentarians was involved in the attack on the SYL Hotel in Mogadishu, which killed at least 3 people and injured 30 others.
The Secretary General of the Parliament, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle (Jaabiri) has confirmed that the identity card that was displayed on the internet, and said to belong to one of the men who attacked the SYL hotel, is fake, saying that the man did not membership of Parliament staff.
The card found was written by a person named Liban Mohamed Mohamud, whose job was a technician in the Somali Parliament.
This issue came at a time when the former driver of the former speaker of the Somali parliament, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman, joined Al-Shabaab in December 2022.
