The former President of the Somali Regional Government, Abdi Mohamud Omar (Abdi Iley), who spoke to the media after his release, reported how he regained his freedom, who was behind his release and what he currently believes about the Somali Regional Government.
Abdi Iley first said that apart from God, the reason for his release was the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who a few days ago said that people would be released because of the month of Ramadan, on the other hand, Abdi Iley said that his release was due to The Office of the General Prosecutor of the Government of Ethiopia closed the case against Abdi Iley and the other people who were in the same case, which on the other hand facilitated the release of Abdi Iley and the people who were arrested.
On the other hand, Abd Iley spoke about what he believes in the Somali Regional Government led by Mustafa Cagjar, “I am one of the people of the Somali region whose president is Mustafe Mohamud Omar, the former president of the Somali region, who is in Somalia. “I am behind the former presidents, and the government is behind me, and I am the former president of the Somali region,” said Abdi Iley.
Finally, Abdi Iley, the former president of the Somali regional government, thanked everyone who participated in his release, such as the traditional elders of the Somali region, Saladin Ugasyad, and the various sectors of the Somali community.
Abdi Iley’s statement comes hours after he regained his freedom after spending 6 years in Qaliti prison in Addis Ababa. he used to lead.

Abdi Iley is currently in Addis Ababa where he owns a house and his family is there, but it is not yet known whether he will go to Jigjiga where he was arrested.
