The National Intelligence and Security Agency said it has captured the former governor of Dharkenlay district, Abukar Ahmed Addow Tifoow, who it said belongs to the Al-Shabaab group.
The NISA agency said that Abukar Ahmed Addow Tifow has been hiding in the government agencies for some time.
Between 2015 and 2019, Abukar served as the Deputy Commissioner for Security and Politics in Wadajir district, and from 2019 to 2020 he served as the Governor of Dharkeynley district.
NISA said that he worked with al-Shabaab to facilitate insecurity in Mogadishu.
The information received by NISA says that Abukar Ahmed Addow joined al-Shabaab between 2013 and 2014, they gave intelligence training in Barawe town in Lower Shabelle region. Government offices and facilitation of the Group’s plot.
