The commander of the Banadir regional police department, Macalin Mahdi, spoke strongly about the protest that took place yesterday at the Sinai Market in Mogadishu.
One civilian was killed in the demonstration when he was shot by soldiers of the security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia.
The commander said that they have arrested soldiers who opened fire on the people who were protesting in the Sinai market in Mogadishu, while investigations are underway.
“Anyone who fired at the protestors has been arrested. The case has been sent to Baris. If Allah wills it, we hope that the judiciary and the court will end this case,” said the commander of the police department in Banadir region, Ma’allin Mahdi.
He also said that teacher Mahdi is not acceptable to harass the public, warning the people in Mogadishu to hold a demonstration without the government’s knowledge.
“I am giving the last warning to the people who are used to making this city a violent demonstration. We cannot allow what happened today. They are making their problems worse,” said Commander Macalin Mahdi.
The demonstration that took place yesterday in the Sinai Market in Mogadishu was a complaint against the administration of Wartanabad district, and it was confirmed that the shots fired at the demonstrators killed one person, who was a young boy, and injured two others.
