The spokesperson of the Somali Police Force, Qasim Ahmed Roble, has announced that the kidnapping and murder of businessman Abukar Ahmed Kaabah has led to the arrest of 7 people, including the commander of the police station in Heliwaa district.

The police spokesman said that the government has put a lot of effort into finding the people involved in the case, and he said that an investigation is currently underway to arrest people.

The spokesman said that of the seven people, five of them are civilians. He said that soon after the investigation of this case is completed, the military court will sit for this case.

Abukar, who was a businessman, was found dead in Garsbaaley area. An armed group that kidnapped him killed him, then dumped his body in a garbage dump.

His death was part of a series of horrific murders that took place in Mogadishu this February, which coincided with the reduction of bombings and killings by al-Shabaab in Mogadishu.
