The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, last night held a special meeting with some Somali scholars at the National Presidency of Somalia.
The meeting between President Hassan Sheikh and Somali scholars attended by the Minister of Religion and Endowments of the Federal Government, Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali, discussed issues such as the fight against Al-Shabaab, strengthening unity and finding solutions to the challenges that have delayed the country.
A statement issued at the meeting said that the president and Somali scholars should work together to overcome all the obstacles in the country that could cause delays.
“The president praised the Somali scholars for their commitment to exposing the lies against our noble religion of Islam, which terrorists have washed away with the blood of our people, and he noted the historical role of the Somali scholars in straightening the government and defending the country.” said in a statement issued by the Somali Presidency.
President Hassan Sheikh also said that the current war in the country against the Al-Shabaab group is the backbone of Somali scholars and he pointed out that they are the guardians of our noble religion.
Somali scholars have shared with the president of Somalia advice on building a government, developing the country and fighting extremist ideology, and they also said that they stand by the federal government in its various efforts.
The President of the Federal Government, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has held many such important meetings with the Somali Ulema’udin at the presidential palace.
