The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has once again sent a strong message to the Ethiopian government regarding its desire to get part of the water and land of Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh has instructed Ethiopia to put aside its greed and abuse of its pride, and that Somalia can never negotiate on its land.
“Ethiopia, we have a desire for land, I will harvest some of it. The day you come, we will talk about the rest and I am sure we can agree on it, but I have a difference with you and leave me there, there will be no agreement” said the President. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called on the leaders of Ethiopia to return to the good practice of the world and the good government which is based on the rules established by the various international organizations, without mentioning that there is no more hostility between the people of Ethiopia.
“We do not have any malice or envy towards the people of Ethiopia and the different ethnic groups. Their government is in trouble and has left the culture of governance and neighborliness. We have the culture of Suban, return to the land, sea and people that are with us. We cannot be satisfied,” said Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The first month of January 2024 was when Ethiopia entered into an agreement with Somaliland that angered the federal government and many countries of the world who opposed the agreement, which was for Ethiopia to get part of Somalia’s water and land.
