The Council of Ministers of the federal government of Somalia has today approved an agreement described as a historic one between the government of Somalia and the government of Turkey.
This agreement is about defense and economic cooperation.
Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, who presided over an emergency meeting of the Assembly, described this agreement as one of destiny and legacy for the Somali nation – he spoke about the importance of this agreement for the country.
“This agreement is fateful and legacy. It is a decision that will open a new path for Somalia that was not possible before. It is a decision that will remove Somalia from the lack of a brother. have”. said Prime Minister Hamsa.
The Prime Minister noted that this agreement will put an end to the fear of terrorism, pirates, illegal fishing, poisoning, abuse and threats from abroad. said Prime Minister Hamse.
The government said this agreement is about the training and equipping of the Somali Navy, to take over the defense of the sea.
This agreement will also increase marine production and the blue economy, according to Prime Minister Hamsa.
The Prime Minister thanked the Turkish government for its support during the important times that Somalia has gone through and today he said that the country’s sovereignty has been violated.
