The reports reaching Aad area in the South of Mudug region say that in the past few hours, new troops from the national army and the local people have arrived there from Dhusamareeb, the capital of Galmudug.
These forces are part of the forces that were already present in the area of Aad, consisting of the army and Maawisleyda, who a day ago engaged in a heavy battle in the area with members of the Al-Shabaab group who attacked them.
An official of the country’s armed forces said that these forces have arrived at the time of greatest need and will now attack the group’s locations in Mudug region.
He also said the military officer that the day before the battle with Al-Shabaab in Aad area, they killed 40 members of the Al-Shabaab who launched the attack and did not take their bodies.
In the areas of South Mudug, operations against the Al-Shabaab group have been going on for several months, and these operations have driven Al-Shabaab out of many areas that they previously controlled for more than 15 years.
