The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh, has denied that he negotiated with the President of Egypt on military matters and that Egypt should send troops to Somalia to support its maritime defense.
“I believe that the problem is not yet there. That is why we are warning Ethiopia and we have news about it, please do not do that,” said the president of Somalia.
The president said that Somalia does not intend to go to war with Ethiopia, but it will not hesitate to defend its country if necessary.
“This is Somalia’s land, we will never get tired of any pressure,” said the president in an interview with Al Arabiya.
President Hassan Sheikh said that the federal government is ready to sign an agreement with Addis Ababa and work with them to have power over the sea.
But he said that it should occupy a part of Somalia that they do not accept that.
