The Federal Government of Somalia has said that it recognizes Taiwan as a part of the People’s Republic of China.
“Somalia, based on its commitment to the principles defined in the United Nations Charter, advocates non-interference in the internal affairs of all nations,” said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that adherence to the principle of non-interference underlines Somalia’s commitment to promoting international harmony and respect for independence.
Taiwan, a country that has not yet been recognized, has a close relationship with Somaliland, as they have already said that they recognize Somaliland as an independent country from the rest of Somalia, while the Somali government strongly condemned this.
Recently, in an election in Taiwan, Lai Ching-te won the presidential election in Taiwan. Some of the world leaders praised the large number of people who came out in the elections that took place in that country.
However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued by the US State Department that it has seriously broken the US promises that it will only maintain informal cultural, economic and other ties. not in Taiwan.
