The government of Somaliland has said that the government of Somalia secretly entered into a secret agreement with Ethiopia regarding the sea.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Somaliland, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, who was responding to the opposition of the Somali government to the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia, said that Somalia has also signed an agreement with Ethiopia.
“The Minister of Defense of Somalia has signed an agreement with Ethiopia to cooperate in maritime and land matters. This agreement was secret. The president told the people about the agreement when he landed at the airport,” said Minister Kaahin.
The minister accused the Somali government of being at war with Somaliland and of falsifying the agreement between the two parties, saying that they will defend themselves at all times.
The minister accused the Somali government of collaborating with Al Shabaab to destroy Somaliland, while the federal government said that the Ethiopian church is coming to Somaliland, which the minister described as a plan to incite the people.
The Somali government has strongly opposed the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia, with protests organized by the government taking place in the Banadir region for the second day.
