The authorities of the Somali government participated today on Thursday with thousands of people from the districts of Banadir region, who staged a protest against Ethiopia’s desire in the Somali Sea.
The protesters marched on the main streets of the capital Mogadishu, from km 4 to Daljirka-Dahsoon, while the federal officials and the Banadir regional administration made speeches against the agreement between Somaliland and the Ethiopian government.
Different sections of the people carried placards showing that it is unacceptable to violate the land of Somalia, and called on the Ethiopian government to consider the wrong steps it is taking.
“Our sea is not for sale, Ethiopia must stop its aggression on our land and sea, Somalia belongs to Somalia” shouted the demonstrators with placards written in Somali, English and Arabic.
In various speeches by the officials, they were equally opposed to the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia, which they described as a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty.
Officials said that Somalia is ready to defend its land and sea from the agreed of Ethiopia.
