The government of Djibouti released news about the conflict between Somalia and Ethiopia.

The government of Djibouti spoke about the serious conflict between Somalia and Ethiopia that resulted from an agreement at the beginning of this month in Addis Ababa between Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, which issued a statement on Ethiopia’s greed and violation of Somali land, said that it is important to protect the independence and territorial integrity of the member states of the IGAD regional organization.

“The Republic of Djibouti, which is currently the leader of the IGAD regional organization, confirms that it will deeply protect the independence, unity and territorial integrity of all the member states of the IGAD organization, according to the IGAD agreement and the African Union constitution,” it said. The statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti.

This news from the government of Djibouti comes at the same time, as Ethiopia has high hopes of receiving maritime territory and a military base on the coast of Somaliland, in exchange for the official government to recognize Somaliland.

The steps taken by Ethiopia and Somaliland were strongly opposed by the senior leaders of the Federal Government, the Government and the two Houses of the Parliament of Somalia as well as many countries in the world.
