22 candidates for the positions of president and vice president of Puntland, this morning confronted the parliament, while delivering their speeches presenting their political programs.
It is the last day to prepare for the election of the president and vice president of Puntland.
The candidates said in the parliament hall that they accept the results of the election, saying that they will work with whichever president wins tomorrow’s election.
The outgoing President Saeed Deni has a chance to return, due to his influence on the process of electing the new parliament, as he was accused of making an unprecedented intervention.
However, the opposition candidates, some of whom have compromised, are campaigning strongly to finally gather their votes in one place to oust President Deni.
Seven of the presidential candidates are from Nugal region. Two are from Mudug region, and two others are from Karkaar or Bari region.
The holding of the election will end after several months of conflict between President Deni and the opposition, which eliminated the election of a person and a vote.
