The operation, which was a combination of air and ground, was carried out by the cooperating forces near the Jeh Jeha area where the Al-Shabaab group had dug large defensive holes.

The Somali National Army said that in the operation that took place yesterday, more than 50 of the Al-Shabaab group were killed, and 26 Al-Shabaab, including their leader, were killed in an airstrike that took place last night.

“In the operation of the terrorist group in Mudug, more than 50 militiamen were killed, and they were attacked on the ground and on the surface. The command of the Somali Armed Forces, in cooperation with international friends, killed 26 terrorists in an airstrike tonight. One of them was the leader of the group that was killed tonight,” said a statement from the country’s Armed Forces.

The news from the Command also mentioned the bombing that destroyed a car of the type that was accompanied by leaders and Malaysians of the Al-Shabaab group.

“In the coming days, the operation in Mudug region will be ended, all the terrorists will be removed from the places where they dug the holes they used to hide,” the statement said.
