The President of Egypt, Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, has once again confirmed Egypt’s strong position with Somalia, and supports its security and stability.
President El-Sisi said this when he spoke on the phone on Tuesday night with his counterpart, the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
According to a statement issued by the presidency of Egypt and the presidency of Somalia, the two leaders discussed how to promote bilateral relations and the development of cooperation and coordination in different areas.
They also exchanged views on the latest situation in the region, according to press releases issued by the presidency of the two countries.
On the other hand, the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, spoke on the phone with the Emir of Qatar, Emir Tamim Binu Hamad and discussed the situation in the region and the issues facing both countries.
The two leaders discussed the bilateral relationship and the opportunities to further develop it, to strengthen the close cooperation between Somalia and Qatar.
Somalia yesterday urged the Security Council and the African Union Council to hold an urgent meeting on Ethiopia’s actions, and support Somalia to defend its territorial independence, and pressure Ethiopia to return to international law.
