The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who addressed both houses of parliament, described the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland as null and void and against international law.
The President of Somalia said that there is no one in Somalia who has the ability to provide water for Somalia.
“International law does not allow what happened on the first of January in Addis Ababa. “They are also against the international customary law, they will not be enforced,” said the president.
President Hassan Shekh also sent a message to the Somaliland administration, telling them that the Ethiopian government cannot give them international recognition.
“Brothers, Ethiopia does not recognize you. We have given you an ID and if they say, there is no ID. “Whatever there was and whatever concern was done, it cannot cut the land that we are paying for,” said the president.
The president called on the Ethiopian government to stop interfering in Somalia. He said the only thing that can separate Somalia and Ethiopia is that they live in peace.
The President said that Ethiopia’s intervention in Somalia had given birth to the rise of Al-Shabaab..
