The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, has spoken strongly about the agreement between Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, in which Ethiopia wants maritime territory belonging to Somalia.

The Prime Minister said that the Federal Government will never accept that part of its land is violated, and is committed to the defense of the country.

“I want to tell the Somali people to calm down, I assure them that we are committed to the defense of the country. A section of our east, our sea and our sky cannot be violated,” said Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre.

He also pointed out to the Prime Minister that the Somali people are required to unite to defend and prevent all illegal activities.

“We are able and have been able to defend our country. There is nothing to be afraid of, but we want to be united and leave everything in Somalia and defend our country and defend our nationalism and independence. To the people who are currently busy with matters in Somalia that have a lot of meaning, we say that this is the time to unite and stand in one place, and it is time to turn to one side and defend the country,” said Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre.

This statement by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia comes after an agreement reached yesterday in Addis Ababa between the President of Somaliland and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, which was greatly opposed by the national leaders, former leaders and the Somali people.
