Somaliland has accused the Federal Government of withdrawing from the Djibouti agreement, after Minister Fiqi said that the agreement was intended to unify both parties.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Somaliland, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, said that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Somalia, has broken one of the agreed clauses, which was to protect the agreement from harm.
“It was for all sides to protect the process of the meetings, and not to make statements and writings that harm the process of the meetings and the atmosphere of the talks. I am sorry that the minister we signed described as one who was advised against the unity of the country,” said Minister Kahin.
He said that the previous agreements were destroyed after Somalia lied about what was agreed upon, and made inappropriate statements, and now the federal government has broken the agreement again.
“This issue shows that the agreement has been withdrawn from the Federal Government of Somalia, we are reminding them to apologize for this point that the minister has wrongly pointed out,” said Minister Kahin.
The minister said that the purpose of the agreement was not to unite Somaliland and Somalia, but that both sides should reach an agreement that they are happy with in the future.
Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi said after the meeting in Djibouti that the meeting was about how Somaliland and Somalia could unite again.
