The President of the Puntland administration, Saeed Abdullahi Deni, who last night held a highly organized event in the city of Garowe to announce that he is once again standing for the presidency of the administration, spoke about many sensitive issues, first of all he talked about something his performance during his tenure in office.
President Deni spoke about his position on SSC Khatumo being an independent authority like other authorities in the country.
“Supporting the self-determination of the people of Khatumo is one of my political programs if I return to power. Puntland has spent a lot of money on the liberation of the Sool region, which is now ruled by SSC Khatumo. I respect the decision and the fate of the people of those areas,” he said. Saeed Deni has also verbally attacked some of the members of the candidates who are competing for the presidency of Puntland.
“Yesterday, my friends rejected the election of people and votes, they suggested that the election should be held in the old system of 66, but when the decision of the SSC came out, they said that 49 MPs should be held in the election, that is a shame for two statements. They are not married,” said Deni.
Finally, Saeed Deni declared that on January 8, with only 10 days left, the Puntland elections will include 66 MPs, while also respecting the independence decision reached by SSC Khatumo.
