Puntland’s presidential candidates have announced that they have withdrawn their confidence in the committee for the resolution of disputes and the approval of members of parliament, after accusing them of working with President Deni to steal seats in parliament.
15 candidates united in a statement they said that the consequences of the loss of parliamentary seats will be taken by the dispute resolution committee and President Deni.
The candidates said that President Deni has started to recruit SSC-Khatumo MPs from the market, and the dispute resolution committee has approved them.
In order to prevent the SSC seats from being lost, they said that 49 MPs will be elected, as they said that President Deni refused to reach a political agreement on the way the 17 SSC-Khatumo members will come.
