The SSC-Khatumo traditional council has announced that it will not send any MPs to the Puntland administration, and those who are already there will not be renewed to return to their seats.
The SSC cultural council also said that there is no one from SSC-Khatumo who can run for the vice president of Puntland.
They also called on the two members from SSC Khatumo who are in the committee for resolution of disputes and approval of the Puntland parliament, to resign.
These decisions and several others were issued by the SSC-Khatumo cultural council after a meeting held this morning in the city of Lasanood, where there was a fear of a protest by the SSC against the sending of MPs to Puntland.
Isimadu warned against recruiting members of the Dhulbahante community from the market, and said that all the elders who signed have made a unanimous decision not to send any MP to Puntland.
Garad Jama Garad Ali, who is one of the names that issued these decisions, said that they ruled the unity and solidarity of the people of SSC-Khatumo.
The decision to name the SSC came at a time when Puntland is in the midst of an election, and many politicians from the SSC Khatumo area were preparing to fill the seats in their communities.
Also, politicians including the vice president of Puntland have longed for the post of vice president of Puntland, who has always been chosen by someone from the Dhulbahante community.
