A joint session of the two chambers of the Federal Parliament of Somalia ended in chaos today at Villa Hargeisa.
The uproar started after members of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament obstructed the opening of the session chaired by the Speaker of the Upper House, Abdi Hashi Abdullahi.
The meeting ended in chaos and the agenda of the two Houses was to discuss the first reading of the government budget for 2024 and the budget audit for 2022 and 2023. hold both agendas.
It was also pointed out that some members of the People’s Assembly objected that this meeting should be chaired by the Speaker of the Upper House, Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, who was present at the forum.
When the noise of the session got stronger, the chairman Abdi Hashi took a quick decision and closed the meeting of the two Houses of Parliament.
“If this is the case, the meeting should be closed, and I will announce the next appointment,” said chairman Abdi Hashi Abdullahi.
Some members of the People’s Assembly spoke about the things that caused the meeting to end in chaos, saying that the debate was caused by the separation of the two agendas.
The meeting ended in chaos, as the fourth session of the Somali Parliament is facing important agendas, one of which is the government’s plan to change the country’s constitution.
