The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today went on a business trip to Burundi, where he will hold meetings with his Burundian counterpart Évariste Ndayishimiye.
President Hassan Sheikh and his delegation were warmly welcomed to the Presidential Palace in Burundi.
The purpose of the Somali president’s trip to Burundi was said to be related to strengthening cooperation and organizing the war against the Al-Shabaab group, as Burundi is one of the countries where troops are stationed in Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh has also been told to bring Burundi, the chairman of the East African Community (EAC), to discuss issues related to the acceleration of Somalia’s accession.
