MP Mohamed Abiib, who is one of the members of the Somaliland House of Representatives, described it as regrettable to accept the decisions made by the traditional leaders regarding the conflict in the Somaliland elections.

He said that a law stating that a primary election should be held was already made, but later it was thrown out the window, and then when the elders decided on a primary election, it was accepted.

“The law made by the council of representatives yesterday was rejected, another law brought by elders was accepted today. When will the council of representatives be correct, and those who objected yesterday were fighting over it this morning,” said Abib.

He said that he proposed the election in the past but its law was suspended and today it was implemented without consulting anyone.

“If every day there is a meeting of a particular clan to work for the nation, then the clans and families, and there is no forced family, but the interest that we wrote together and the constitution, if Ahmed Ismail Samar and Awdal are skipped, I have a meeting,” he said. Abib.
