The former Prime Minister of the Somali government, Omar Abdirashid, called for the support of the Somali government in the fight against Al-Shabaab, as he said in a statement published on his Twitter account.
“Al Shabab is a threat and we must support the government in its efforts to eliminate this threat. “Obviously, strategic reformation needs to be done, but I also have to acknowledge the good work done by the SNA and the civil defense forces in this war,” said the former prime minister.
Omar Abdirashid’s call comes a day after Somalia’s former president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and former Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble called for support in the fight against al-Shabaab.
“This ongoing issue is not a political or financial issue. It is a matter of our existence. I want to encourage and praise the army to keep going,” said Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke.
Omar Abdirashieed said that the threat of al-Shabaab is an international threat and if not prevented, it may endanger the nationalism and existence of Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh has received great support in the fight against al-Shabaab. Most of the politicians who led the country and those who have different views, support his government in the war against al-Shabaab.
