Somalia’s ministers approved three members of the Central Bank Board today.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia has today approved the appointment of three members to be part of the board of the Central Bank, after a proposal from the Ministry of Finance of Somalia.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Salah Ahmed Jama chaired the meeting today to approve the appointment of Prof. Abdullahi Sheikh Ibrahim (Qalooow), Faisal Abdullahi Warsame and Mohamed Hassan Omar.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers also approved a resolution to strengthen compliance with the laws and revenue regulations, which praised the Somali people for paying taxes which is the backbone of the reconstruction of the country’s economic infrastructure.

The weekly meeting of the Somali Cabinet of Ministers also heard a report related to the process of preparing the 2060 Millennium Vision from the National Economic Council, with the approval of a ministerial technical committee to support the 2060 vision.

At the end of the meeting, the Council heard a report on the general security of the country and the second phase of operations against the Al-Shabaab group from the Minister of Security and Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia.
