The World Health Organization (WHO) said it is making efforts to save lives and prevent the spread of cholera in Somalia.

In its weekly report on cholera, the WHO revealed that as of the first week of 2023, there were 11,704 suspected cases of cholera recorded in Somalia.

The organization said that there are 30 people who died of Cholera.

235 new suspected non-fatal cases were reported in the 28 districts affected by the drought in late July this year.

The WHO and its health partners said they have stepped up the implementation of measures to deal with the spread of cholera.

A lot of work is going on in the Jubaland regional government which is now the center of this disease, according to the health agency.
