Hassan Sheikh, the President’s Security Adviser, who gave an interview to the Somali language branch of VOA, said that the weapons found by the government forces include mortars, anti-aircraft guns known as Suuga and helicopters, and he said that he expected the army to will lead to significant success.

“The government of Somalia’s weapons addiction has been reduced a year ago, so the government in the past months has been making it difficult to get the weapons that were prohibited or that were given to Somalia by friends and some that it bought. There is also a helicopter weapon. “There are 120 mortars in the Somali government’s arsenal,” said the National Security Adviser to the President of Somalia, Hussein Sheikh Ali.

He also pointed out to Hussein Sheikh Ali that these heavy weapons will be used by the Somali government forces, especially those who have been specially trained and will participate in the second phase of operations against the Al-Shabaab group which is expected to start soon.

Hussein Sheikh Ali also mentioned that the federal government now has enough troops to free Al-Shabaab from the regions of the country, and the government is working hard to remove the weapons from the country for years to buy them. different types of modern weapons.

Finally, Hussein Sheikh Ali said that at the end of this year, a meeting will be held in the United States of America to raise funds for the construction of the Somali Armed Forces so that the Federal Government will be able to have enough of its own army beyond the year 2027.
